cell culture shake flasks: A Common Tool for Biological Research

Thu Jun 13 11:16:52 CST 2024

Cell culture is an important technical means in biological research, involving the study of cell growth, reproduction, and function. Among them, the cell culture shake flasks, as a type of cell culture container, is widely used in various fields of biological research.

The technology of cell culture shake flasks emerged in the 1930s. It promotes cell growth and reproduction by simulating the dynamic environment inside organisms, allowing cells to grow and reproduce under shaking conditions. This technology is characterized by its simplicity and practicality, thus quickly popularized in microbial culture and becoming an important technical tool.

Cell Culture Flask

cell culture shake flasks are made of materials such as polycarbonate (PC) and PETG. These excellent materials have characteristics such as high strength, good transparency, resistance to high and low temperatures, and impact resistance, meeting the research needs of different fields. In microbiological research, cell culture shake flasks are commonly used for large-scale production of microbial cells or fermentation broth, for further extraction of useful substances or biotransformation. In cellular biology research, they can be used to simulate the growth environment of cells in vivo, studying processes such as cell growth, reproduction, and differentiation. Additionally, they are also used in fields such as drug screening and toxicology research.

When choosing cell culture shake flasks, multiple factors need to be considered. Select flasks with suitable capacities and specifications according to experimental requirements. By choosing the appropriate flask, the growth environment of cells in vivo can be better simulated, promoting cell growth and reproduction. With the continuous advancement of technology and the diversification of application demands, this cell culture tool will continue to play its important role, driving the continuous development of biological research.

The FAI climbed 5.9 percent year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2018, quickening from the 5.7-percent growth in Jan-Oct, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Friday in an online statement.

The key indicator of investment, dubbed a major growth driver, hit the bottom in August and has since started to rebound steadily.

In the face of emerging economic challenges home and abroad, China has stepped up efforts to stabilize investment, in particular rolling out measures to motivate private investors and channel funds into infrastructure.

Friday's data showed private investment, accounting for more than 60 percent of the total FAI, expanded by a brisk 8.7 percent.

NBS spokesperson Mao Shengyong said funds into weak economic links registered rapid increases as investment in environmental protection and agriculture jumped 42 percent and 12.5 percent respectively, much faster than the average.

In breakdown, investment in high-tech and equipment manufacturing remained vigorous with 16.1-percent and 11.6-percent increases respectively in the first 11 months. Infrastructure investment gained 3.7 percent, staying flat. Investment in property development rose 9.7 percent, also unchanged.
